Your County Councilperson is Mr. Charles Groeteke
We are a self-funded, self-managed, private subdivision located in the unincorporated Barnhart area of Jefferson County, Missouri. That means other than the rules and restrictions set forth in our Book of Indentures, our community falls directly under Jefferson County jurisdiction. Being unincorporated means we don't have a city hall, mayor and staff to support or other city services but the upside is we don't have any city taxes. Being county residents, we receive police protection, emergency and other county provided services and representation on the Jefferson county council. Our Jefferson County Councilperson is Mr. Charles Groeteke representing District 4, which encompasses all of Barnhart including our subdivision. He is your voice in Jefferson County government. If you have issues, problems or concerns to be addressed at the county level, here's the contact info for Mr. Groeteke.

MORE Helpful Numbers courtesy of Representative Dan Shaul (R), District 113 (Imperial)
A bit outdated (2016) but contains an expanded directory of contact numbers for local, state and federal government officials and departments along with emergency services, schools, colleges and more. Typically sent by mail, this is available here for benefit of those who either didn't receive a copy or misplaced their copy. A big thank you to Representative Dan Shaul for compiling this directory! Note: It's 16 pages and may take some time to download depending upon your internet connection speed.

Still Throwing Stuff Away?
"Away" is not some faraway place where everything just magically disappears. It all ends up somewhere right here on or under the earth. Think about that and if you haven't been recycling, please start! Let's give our earth a chance! It's the only one we have.
Do you know at least 95% or more of your everyday trash can be recycled? Besides newspapers, magazines, phone books and junkmail, paper towels, tissues, plates and napkins, aluminum foil, plastic soda bottles, milk jugs and juice cartons, grocery bags, sandwich bags, plastic wrap, cereal bags and boxes, cardboard boxes and more can all be recycled.
Try this test: Put a large box next to your kitchen trashcan for recyclables. You'll be surprised how fast it fills up in just one day and amazed at how little organic garbage you actually have. And if you want to go super green, compost that organic garbage into rich garden and plant fertilizer. Once you get the hang of it, you may even be able to cancel your trash service or at least cut down on the number of pickups, saving you money while saving the earth at the same time!
Recycling is easy at convenient parking lot drop-offs located at:
Jefferson County Library - Paper and magazines only - no phone books!
Freer Elementary School - Glass, tin, aluminum, plastics #1-7, cardboard, paper and mixed papers like phone books, magazines, etc. Look for the "Blue" Dumpster for easy one-drop, no-sort recycling.
Next time you're returning a library book, taking your kids to school or mailing a letter, RECYCLE! It's easy and the green (right) thing to do for our planet.
Please read and respect each recycle bin owner's posted limitations. Do not use them for anything other than specified! That means NO GARBAGE, TRASH or ELECTRONICS!
