Sewer and Utility Emergencies
If you see a street sewer overflowing or backed up, leaking water main or other utility issue needing immediate attention, please call the appropriate utility directly. Many times such issues arise during the off-hours or on holidays but emergency numbers are available for the various utilities which can be found here. Be clear in your message, leaving your name and number for callback, as well as identifying the problem and specific location if possible. Please do not call the subdivision office or plat directors, as it may only delay the response time. This is especially true where hazardous or other safety conditions exist. Your cooperation is appreciated.

How can you help?
When cleaning up your lawn from leaves and debris, please DO NOT blow grass and leaves into the street. It will clog and block the lines. Unlike the water that goes down your drain to the sewer, water that flows into storm drains is not treated and filtered for pollutants. This potentially contaminated water flows into creeks, streams and lakes. It’s important that you do your part to keep this clean and encourage your neighbors to do the same.
Why are some VOJ storm drains clogged?
Here's a 2013 photo of one of the water runoffs leading to a storm sewer. In this picture is a bathtub and closet door someone was too lazy to have disposed of properly after remodeling their home. It's this kind of disregard for their own community that causes unnecessary added expense for all our homeowners. Not to mention the trashy mentality it takes to do something like this to your own neighborhood. While most VOJ residents try to be responsible homeowners, it takes only a few like this to ruin it for everyone.
